    What is ACH?

ACH stands for Automatic Clearing House. ACH is a nationwide electronic funds transfer network which enables participating financial institutions to distribute electronic credit and debit entries to bank accounts and to settle such entries. So instead of sending a paper check to pay your bill, the creditor will automatically deduct the funds from your account. Or in the instance of receiving money, the debtor will automatically credit the funds to your account. Common examples of ACH transactions are automobile payments, direct deposit, insurance premium payments and home mortgage payments.
