    What is the legal age to open a checking account? 

    You must be at least 18 to open a checking account in your own name. Checking accounts may be opened with a parent or guardian as a joint owner beginning at the age of 14. Learn more about Youth Checking and Savings accounts

    What identification is required to open an account? 

    Two forms of ID are required. Acceptable forms of ID include: 

    Current Wisconsin driver's license* or Wisconsin State ID 

    Plus one of the following: 

    • Current utility bill with the same address as license 
    • Current pay stub with the same name and address as license or ID 
    • Milwaukee County ID 
    • VA ID 
    • Passport 
    • Debit card or credit card of another financial institution 
    • Military ID 
    • Please note that social security cards, birth certificates, Sam's Club membership cards and library cards are not acceptable forms of ID for opening a new account with Landmark. 

    *We cannot accept the paper receipt that the DMV issues for you to use while you wait to receive your license or ID card in the mail; we will require the plastic ID card.
