Happy October! Pumpkin flavored everything is back and your favorite scary movies are now playing on Netflix. October is also National Cybersecurity Month, and in honor of that we are releasing weekly tips on how you can better protect yourself from both common and fairly new cybersecurity threats. Here is a sneak preview of what to expect on our blog in the coming weeks.

Week 1: Know Who You’re Dealing With

On October 7, we will discuss the importance of verifying who you’re corresponding with. Whether it’s via social media or on the phone, we’ll walk you through the best ways to spot a scammer.

Week 2: Keeping Your Information Safe

On October 14, we’ll talk about some easy ways you can beef up your cybersecurity and what to watch out for in the real world and online.

Week 3: Fraud Prevention

On October 21, we’ll discuss the importance of monitoring your accounts and which steps to take immediately if you think you’ve been a victim of fraud.

Week 4: Safe Holiday Shopping

It’s the week of Halloween, so it’s time to start putting together your holiday gift lists. On October 28, we’ll teach you the ins and outs of safe holiday shopping.

While October is dedicated to creepy monsters and slasher films, there are real threats online and in the world that could jeopardize your financial future. Our goal is to help you recognize cybersecurity issues and prevent them from happening. We’ll see you next week!
